Irish Franchise Exhibition preview
November 2006

It’s boom time for franchising in Ireland. John Green, chairman of the Irish Franchise Association, explains why the sector continues to grow and welcomes you to the Irish Franchise Exhibition 2006.

The franchise industry in Ireland shows continued growth in all aspects of the sector, and we estimate that there are now 250 franchises established here with more than 2,400 franchisees and at least 20,000 direct employees – this is expected to be confirmed by the findings of the ongoing 2006 survey on franchising in Ireland to be published in the autumn.

The forthcoming Irish Franchise Exhibition – organized by Venture Marketing Group, and with the exclusive support of The Irish Franchise Association – at the RDS on November 17-18 will reflect the growing number of franchise systems available today. If you are considering buying a franchise, you’ll be impressed with the multitide of different sectors that are covered.

This exhibition is the major annual date in the industry calendar in Ireland. Whatever advice you may need, experts on the Irish Franchise Association stand will also be pleased to help.

For those new to franchising, there is a free seminar programme where experienced franchisors and franchisees, as well as expert advisors will cover every aspect of the industry.

At the show you will find a superb range of franchises from Ireland, the UK and overseas, with businesses to suit all interests, skills and budgets. While many are well-established brand leaders in Ireland, some will be new to the country.

The aging population has created a need for more businesses focusing on home care, home services, and leisure – time activities. Concerns about the environment, water, and home spaces too, lend themselves to new and varied franchises.

Existing sectors are also going through change and expansion. The fast food sector is a prime example of how franchising is extending its offerings; appealing to a wider customer base that reflects the taste of Ireland’s growing and diverse population.

The Irish Franchise Association’s website is a front–line resource for everyone in franchising. Updated regularly with relevant information, it has a listing of franchise members with links to their websites. In business, the right information can be your best asset.
